Cornish Engineering

Cornish Engineering on Popham Street in Nottingham was demolished a couple of years ago along with a partial railway bridge that carried trains from the tunnels under the city. It is hard to visualise Nottingham during this era as continued modernisation and regeneration continues to change the city.

This selection of images was the first themed panel I constructed. I realised that I couldn’t catpture the character of the door in one image and set about recording the details in a series of photographs. This started a process that I continue today and is one of the most enjoyable aspects of my photography.

I am not sure this is my best panel, in fact I know it isn’t, but it was the first, and the building no longer exists, so I value the photographs for these reasons.
