Colwick Country Park

22nd March 2015
Colwick Country Park has a good reputation for nature photography but, as a predominately landscape photographer, I find that my skills for nature photography are lacking particularly when the subjects are always on the move!

So having spotted a great crested grebe and armed with a 400mm lens with 2x converter I was hopeful of getting a decent outcome. Sadly, what I did manage to capture was not truly sharp in the right places so it is case of better luck next time.

To ensure that I didn't come home totally empty handed I returned to more familiar and more static subject matter!

My favourite image from trip was this shot of Hawthorn blossom:

I took a couple of wide landscapes which includes a hot air balloon over the park and a wonderful yellow weeping willow tree:

The colours of the weeping were so striking I walked around to get a closer angle and some reflections:

Lastly, at various point during the afternoon I captured some abstract shots including the reflected willow, clouds in the Trent and yacht masts near the marina.
