A small gouache study (approx. 13cm x 8cm on beige paper) of a scene captured yesterday whilst out walking near to Edingley Beck. I liked the shape of the tree and the sheep, some in shade and others feeding in the open.
Working small allows me to complete the painting in a short timeframe, less than an hour. I can work dark to light and thin to thick with gouache and this is a good way to test scenes for larger paintings and others medium eg oils.
