Roses

I was searching through my photo library, a frustrating process of scrolling back and forth. I wished I was more organised with albums and captions. However, I stopped when I saw this picture. It’s another example of what I call photo-art – see my post on More on Photo Art, 26th May 2026.
This piece was created in Artrage on my iPad using a large digital thick oil brush. Each stroke captures the underlying colours from a photograph of roses. The brush properties allow for a push and pull of the paint, which is crucial to the final finish.
I often use this method for ideas and preparation for oil paintings but didn’t develop it further this time. Now, I look at it again and think it could stand alone as a piece of photo-art. It certainly caught my eye as I was searching through photos…
